Welcome Bosma Volleyball Academy!

Spain

We’re excited to announce our newest Affiliate, Bosma International Beach Volleyball Academy in Alicante, Spain! Founded just a year ago by Monika Horvath, Javier Bosma and Eszter Nagy, the academy is quickly gaining recognition in youth beach volleyball. Bosma, a former professional beach volleyball player, brings years of experience to the coaching staff, while Horvath, originally from Hungary, brings a wealth of experience, having run the Boys & Girls Club of Hungary for 15 years before founding the academy. Her passion for sports, combined with her background in running youth programs and her love for tennis and volleyball, inspired her to create this organization in Spain.

The academy serves some 60 young people each week, aged 8-20 years old, with five days of training and three hours of coaching per session. In a region where beach volleyball is less popular among kids compared to places like the U.S., Bosma Academy is working to increase its appeal. The academy offers an international flavor, with athletes coming from countries such as the U.S., Canada, France, Ukraine, Russia, and Hungary. As the first youth-focused beach volleyball program in Alicante, it’s paving the way for young athletes to thrive in the sport.

The academy’s mission is to help young athletes reach their full potential, both on the court and in their personal growth. With a focus on teamwork, excellence, and inclusivity, the Bosma Coaching Program ensures that players not only develop their volleyball skills but also experience a fun and supportive environment. As they continue to grow, the academy is dedicated to fostering continuous improvement and a love for the sport, while emphasizing camaraderie and collaboration among its diverse group of players.

One of the academy's athletes, Zina Nemeth, credits Bosma Academy for helping her achieve a 7th place finish at the U18 European Championship. Here's her testimonial:

"Hello, my name is Zina Nemeth, I am 17 years old, and I started playing volleyball when I was 7 years old. I play for the Hungarian National Beach Volleyball Team and made history with becoming 7th at the u18 European Championship. My achievement was largely thanks to the Bosma Beach Volleyball Academy. All my coaches are amazing during the trainings and outside of the volleyball environment. They teach us not only the technical skill, but how to be a good member of a team, how to be disciplined and several other personality skills you need if you want to become a high-level athlete. Here, during the trainings we always push our limits, putting the maximum that we have each day into all exercises. The whole club is like a second family to me, where I always feel safe, love and supported."
